Bio
Stian Sopp (born April 10 1993 in Gjøvik) is a Norwegian percussionist from Biri. He is signed as an artist for Yamaha Music, MEINL Cymbals, and MEINL Percussion.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in classical percussion from The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark, and a Master's degree in classical percussion and music education from The Royal Academy of Music in Denmark and Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, Japan, where he studied under Professor Keiko Abe. He previously attended the music program at Gjøvik High School, the Talent Development Program at the Norwegian Academy of Music, and Toneheim Folkehøgskole.

In 2011 and 2015, he won 2nd prize in Toneprisen, and in 2012, he was a finalist in NRK's competition Virtuos, where he also performed as a soloist with the The Norwegian Radio Orchestra. He was the winner of the conservatory's soloist competition in 2013 and performed as a soloist with The Prince of Denmark's Brass Band during two concerts in the same year.
He has previously participated in various radio and TV productions, collaborated on pop albums with artists such as Ronni Le Tekrø, and been hired by corporations such as NRK and Eidsiva.
